Transition to new organisation for IDC

The IDC Executive met in November 2017 to consider options for formalising the IDC as a legal entity and were unanimous in deciding to form a new not for profit company structure.
‘The decision is the culmination of more than two years of discussion by the Executive and is the right move at the right time for all our member organisations to place our representation on a new and stronger footing,’ IDC Chair Alison Baker said.
The new organisation is proposed to be called International Development Contractors Community Limited (IDCC).
The process to form IDCC is being led by IDC Deputy Chair Brian Ramsay, with work commencing in mid-January 2018.
‘The formation of IDCC is an exciting initiative to create a viable and valued organisation for our members. I look forward to working on the development of IDCC with IDC members and other firms in the lead up to and after the upcoming DFAT Aid Supplier Conference on 15 February 2018’, Brian said.
People can be updated about the process to form IDCC and the opportunities for input via the website and email.
As her last task for the IDC, Alison Baker will provide an update on progress and next steps for IDCC at the Aid Supplier Conference on 15 February in Canberra. Alison has taken on the new role of Fund Manager for GHD’s Water for Women contract with DFAT and will be stepping down as Chair of IDC to focus on this new project.
